The Beginning
Nickolas Herald is a boy born in Vamil, Kisasko district in Tafficano. He loves anything that flies from a paper plane to a real aircraft. He was born in a middle class family, so he could end up in only making paper planes. He made various types of paper planes and likes to make new types of paper planes of his own. He had a fascinating interest for anything that flies in the air. He has a collection of fifty types of planes that he made himself. When he hears the roaring of a plane, he used to hasten out to see it. He had never seen a real plane near to him. His utmost wish is to see the plane and travel in it.
The Flying Mystery
He was walking in the church balcony when he saw a little thing hovering in the nearby ground. He ran to see what it was. It was Joel, a rich kid who was controlling the thing with the remote he had in his hands. Nickolas asked him what it was. He said with pride “It is called a drone; my father bought this for me on my birthday”. He asked him very politely if he could just fly it (he knew that he would not give him because he was a selfish kid, so he asked politely.) without any thinking he said “NO”. But poor Nick watched the drone as it was hovering over the ground with great fascination. When he came back to home, the drone was only in his mind
Class
Nicholas loved only one subject and that is science especially physics. He created many things like boomerang and planes. He may fail in any other subject but not Physics. He asked his physics teacher many questions that he did not know. He studied more about drones and drone technology. He had a friend named Tahul who also loved planes. Together they would discuss about these things everyday from their way back home. Their house is near to each other.
The Great Invention
He had a strong wish to make a drone and he shared it with his best friend Tahul during their way back home. He was also interested after hearing the idea, Nickolas had drone a rough sketch of the drone when he was at school, he showed at to Tahul. He also found what all things where necessary to make a drone by looking in the Google from his father’s mobile. He had some of the things listed but still needed some more things to make it. He made the remote from his friends damaged remote control car. Still he needed a rechargeable battery and four 8 V mini motors.
Birthday
His birthday was coming soon. There was nothing much interesting just a plum cake and a prize of rupees 100, but still he loved and enjoyed his birthdays. But this time due to his father’s promotion, he got rupees 200 as prize as his birthday gift. He was overjoyed. When he asked the price of a motor in the shop it was 150 in total for a set including four 8 V mini motors and the wires required. He and his friend went and brought this set using this money. Tahul brought a rechargeable battery by adding his pocket money and Nick’s 50 rupees. That day was a very cheerful day for them; Nick finalized the plan for the drone that day itself.
Back To Work
He began to do things according to his plan and joined parts together. He also made a base to his drone by an unwanted piece of plastic by making it the shape of a quadrilateral. He was happy that it came in a piece and looked pretty well almost like a drone (not as good as Joel’s drone). He and his friend switched the battery to on and Tahul took the remote and moved the stick on the remote to move it up , the first and second motor was working but the other two was not working. It was because the wire connecting them was loose they tightened it. They started to fly it again, BRAVO ! It flew up and stood in the air , he made it to fly left and right. It could fly up to a flight range of 35 m, he enjoyed as he flew it. Both were excited to see this. They did some more upgrades to the drone to make it more aerodynamic. Both were pleased that their hard work made the outcome.
Exhibition
It was on the notice board , it was Tahul who found it and shared it with Nick. There was an science exhibition to be conducted at school on the next week. They did not have any think to think, he said his drone would be there for the science exhibition. Nickolas went to the school office to register the drone for the exhibition. With their pocket money they bought a real plastic drone cover to make the drone more attaractve and aerodynamic, now the flying machine that he made looked a drone. They decided the name of the drone to be MAVIC` 666. He printed a sticker of MAVIC 666 from a nearby sticker shop and pasted it on the drone. After everything was done, it looked spectacular.
The Great Event
It was the day for the great event – The Science Exhibition. Tahul came to Nick’s house and they tested it in Nicholas’s house. It was perfect, they made it fully charged and also took the charger and went for the school. When they reached the school , they saw a huge banner saying “SCIENCE EXHIBITION”. The first prize was rs 5000 + trophy , second prize was 2500 rs + trophy , and the third prize was 1000rs . There were other few good works like a rc boat that really moves in the water and a light that automatically switch on and off. They were very excited to be even a part of this exhibition , there were also few snack shops that were set up at the school. They got a space in the 2 nd floor .
The Result
And after inspecting many works the teachers along with a person from outside came to see Nicholas’s and Tahul’s project. Tahul first explained the project and Nick showed how the drone fly in the school ground, many children and adults crowded near the ground to see the drone flying. Along with the crowd Joel was also there to see it and he was amazed and came to congratulate them and said them that they could fly his drone and make further modifications for their drone , now everyone was happy including Nicholas, Tahul and Joel .Joel became their friend. It was time for the results , and they were eager to hear the result-“and the first price goes to titanic ,the rc ship ; the second price goes to MAVIC 666, the drone” They were very happy to hear this ,it is the first time that they are getting a prize from the school . They received the 2500 rs cash prize and the trophy together. With this money they did further modifications to the drone .
After 25 years
The two friends started a drone company called “MAVIC aerodynamics”. It was a huge success , now the company produces different models of drones .Their drones became the bestsellers in the toy market because of their best and assured quality and low price. They did this to encourage the young youth growing who has a keen interest in flying drones. They become rich and lived luxuriously thereafter. Now there small dream which they made a drone made them like this.
